The GMC Canyon has remained unchanged for nearly a decade. While it has always offered a smooth ride and great features for Dublin and Metter drivers, it’s lagged behind its competitors in certain areas. But for the 2023 model year, GMC has finally given the Canyon the attention it deserves, and its new offering was well worth the wait.
What’s New for 2023?
One of the biggest additions to the 2023 GMC Canyon is the introduction of the new AT4X trim. The AT4X is designed to improve the Canyon’s off-roading capabilities with features like a turbocharged 2.7-liter 310-hp inline-four engine, a 10.7-inch ground clearance, and 33-inch mud-terrain tires.
Every Canyon model will also come with increased height. And the Edition 1 package that’s available will add extra cameras, bumpers, light bars, a winch, and 17-inch bead lock wheels.
Features of the 2023 GMC Canyon
While nothing official has been released on the new GMC Canyon, it’s expected to utilize a turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four engine and be matted to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new GMC Canyon will offer a max tow capacity of 7700, but that number drops 6000 pounds for Canyon AT4X.
There isn’t much info on the tech inside the new Canyon model. But we know some available equipment includes underbody cameras and a head-up display. Pembroke drives will also find a new digital gauge behind the new steering wheel and an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen.
Every new Canyon model will come equipped with a slew of advanced driver aids. These features include forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
