The new 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD truck is a formidable workhorse that can take on even more than the popular GMC Sierra 1500. The 2500 HD can tow even more than last year's HD model and it now offers a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Performance
The standard engine in the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD is a 6.6-liter gasoline-powered V8 with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The run time from zero to 60 mph is about 7.0 seconds. An optional 6.0-liter turbocharged diesel V8 engine is also available, giving you 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. The maximum towing capacity on most models is 14,500 pounds but you can get up as high as 20,000 pounds on dually diesel models equipped with the Max Tailering package. The maximum payload ranges from 3,381 pounds up to 3850 pounds depending on the configuration.
